These are a nice touch that, once again, tie into the Pathfinder aspects of the game. There are also text scenes which read more like a Game Master giving you a situation where you must choose a path that will ultimately affect your character and sometimes the world around you. It's a mini-game of sorts, and similar to smaller, battle-oriented board games. It's simple but fun to fight enemies on these tiled battlefields with similar rules to regular combat. You'll command your own part of the main force to fight demons in a separate tactical-style combat. Wrath of the Righteous puts the player in the middle of a crusade, meaning they're at war with armies and their strategies. There are other layers to these mechanics as well. Still, it allows for plenty of strategizing, something hardcore players will love. Luckily, there is also an option for turn-based combat, although this means battles with numerous enemies will take a long time. There are also some issues like party members constantly being in the way for cone, line and area-of-effect spells, especially when playing in real-time. There are tons of tutorials to guide you through everything, but it's still a lot to take in.
